Purchasing Manager
Our client is a dynamic and rapidly growing distribution company. Recently, they have successfully implemented the Prophet 21 Cloud platform to enhance their operational efficiency and scalability. As they continue to expand their footprint in the market, they are seeking a skilled Purchasing Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in optimizing their procurement processes and supply chain management. Position Overview: As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement, sourcing, and supplier management within our organization. Leveraging your expertise in Prophet 21 Cloud, you will ensure seamless integration of purchasing functions with the newly implemented ERP system. You will collaborate closely with various departments including operations, finance, and sales to support their strategic objectives and drive cost efficiencies. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and Prophet 21 Cloud capabilities.
Manage the procurement process from requisition to purchase order, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Identify and onboard strategic suppliers/vendors, negotiating favorable terms and agreements.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular vendor evaluations to ensure quality, delivery, and cost expectations are met.
Utilize Prophet 21 Cloud to optimize inventory levels, forecasting, and demand planning.
Analyze market trends and conduct benchmarking to maintain competitive pricing and sourcing options.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Prepare and present periodic reports on purchasing metrics, budget variance analysis, and cost-saving initiatives to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement role within a distribution or manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Prophet 21 Cloud or similar ERP systems.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software (Prophet 21 Cloud certification a plus).
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
