Job Title: Brand Design Lead
Location: U.S. Remote (EST Preferred but not limited to)
Salary Up to 135,000 annually 
About the Role

As the Brand Design Lead, you’ll lead the visual direction for client brand. You’ll leverage insights-backed briefs to help create inspiring work that supports both our brand priorities and business goals. You have deep experience in graphic design with a proven track record of leading visual direction across multiple mediums including digital and print graphic design, photography, illustration, animation, and more. You recognize the power of storytelling in a holistic way–both visually as well as verbally. You have worked closely with copy/content teams to tell brand stories across packaging, in-store marketing, advertising, digital content, and other communication touchpoints.

This role will be crucial to bringing our brand’s mission, vision, and personality to life across all verticals of the business. You will work primarily with client’s Brand Marketing team to deeply understand the voice of our customers and brand priorities across Retail and DTC, developing compelling creative outputs and campaign visuals in tune with each channel’s business needs. This role will over-index on doing/designing to start but will be a crucial partner in leading highly strategic initiatives such as refreshing the brand’s style guide and visual identity, developing compelling creative territories for future innovation launches, and creating consistent, connected visuals across all evergreen assets for the brand.

What You Will Accomplish
  • Strengthen and push a high standard for the brand aesthetic across client’s key channels and touchpoints, from print and packaging to digital experiences and beyond
  • Lead refreshing and implementing our holistic visual system to create an inspiring and recognizable brand, carrying it through in everything we do from now and for the next 3+ years
  • Lead regular evolution and updates to visual guidelines and toolkits, inclusive of both digital design through print and packaging—ensuring consistent application of the brand internally and externally
  • Partner with copy/content leads to ensure our key brand narratives comes together cohesively with compelling creative visuals
  • Lead and develop A+ design and art direction capabilities to support brand development (print and digital graphic design, art direction, illustration and photography)
  • Be able to manage design and art direction across digital to print, including packaging (however, this role does not oversee industrial design, including product or packaging forms)
  • See projects throughout the entire design and art process, from briefing (in partnership with brand marketing colleagues) through execution—from big (ex: innovation launch campaigns) to small (ex: one-off emails)
  • With Head of VP of Brand, create interwoven link between art and copywriting, setting high storytelling standards both visually and verbally — i.e. you should believe that copy and art need to work together to speak to our consumer
This should describe you
  • 7+ years of graphic design experience with an MFA or BFA in graphic design
  • Previous experience working client-side across consumer products, with experience in startups, beauty/wellness, healthcare, and/or sustainability strongly preferred
  • A proven track record leading design and art direction across channels; while you grew up as a designer, you are fluent in holistic visual language and storytelling—how the visual and verbal elements play together across all marketing communications
  • A strong portfolio as a designer, showcasing experience building and launching product launches and/or small brands within your portfolio across a range of mediums: print, packaging, in-store, digital, social, advertising, etc 
  • Exceptional taste and design aesthetic, variations on styles, and awareness of design trends and innovation
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; ability to drive multiple projects at a time, and iterate quickly
  • Excellent design and conceptual ability with thorough knowledge of visual systems, advertising, digital media, print (packaging, in-store marketing), and digital production.
  • Excellence in typography, color, layout, and composition; skilled at form and image making
  • Deep knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Google Suite
