Job Title: Epicor Master Scheduler/Planner
Job Overview:
Our manufacturing client is seeking an experienced Epicor Master Scheduler/Planner to join their team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Epicor ERP and manufacturing processes to manage and optimize production schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources, timely deliveries, and alignment with customer demand. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment, combined with hands-on experience using Epicor's scheduling and planning functionalities.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling:
Develop and maintain the production schedule in Epicor ERP, ensuring alignment with customer demand, inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity. Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, production delays, or resource constraints.
Material Planning:
Work with procurement and inventory teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components required for production. Monitor inventory levels and provide recommendations for reorder points and lead times.
Capacity Planning:
Utilize Epicor’s capacity planning tools to assess plant resources (labor, equipment, etc.) and ensure that production schedules align with available capacity. Identify any potential bottlenecks or constraints and develop solutions to mitigate them.
Forecasting & Demand Management:
Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to develop accurate forecasts and align production plans with customer orders and market demand. Adjust production schedules as needed to meet changes in demand or unexpected shifts.
Performance Monitoring:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, inventory levels, on-time delivery, and overall plan adherence. Prepare reports and communicate progress to management and other stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement in production scheduling, inventory management, and demand planning. Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and optimize workflows.
Epicor ERP Utilization:
Fully utilize Epicor's planning and scheduling modules (e.g., Advanced Production Scheduling, Material Requirements Planning, etc.) to support the manufacturing process. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to system use or data integrity.
Collaboration:
Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure smooth production operations. Participate in regular meetings to align schedules with production capacity, inventory availability, and other business needs.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years of experience in a production planning, scheduling, or materials management role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Previous experience using Epicor ERP is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Epicor ERP, particularly in production scheduling, material requirements planning (MRP), and capacity planning. Familiarity with advanced scheduling tools, reporting tools, and Excel.
Manufacturing Knowledge:
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, including production workflows, inventory management, and supply chain operations. Experience in managing production schedules for high-volume or custom-made products is a plus.
Analytical Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex production scenarios and make data-driven decisions.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with teams in procurement, sales, production, and management.
Organizational Skills:
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with advanced production scheduling (APS) and materials management modules within Epicor ERP.
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is beneficial.
Knowledge of cloud-based or SaaS solutions within the manufacturing space is a plus.
