Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Epicor Subject Matter Expert (SME) contractor to support the implementation and configuration of the Projects Module within a customer's Epicor Kinetic environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the customer's internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the effective setup, configuration, and deployment of the Projects module to optimize project management processes.
This role requires a deep understanding of Epicor Kinetic, specifically the Projects module, as well as strong expertise in project management practices, business processes, and system integration. The contractor will provide technical expertise, best practices, and hands-on configuration to meet the unique needs of the customer’s organization.
Key Responsibilities:
System Configuration & Implementation:
Configure the Projects module in Epicor Kinetic according to customer specifications, aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.
Assist in the end-to-end implementation of the module, including project setup, cost tracking, resource allocation, scheduling, and billing integration.
Collaborate with the customer’s team to ensure accurate mapping of business processes into the Epicor Kinetic environment.
Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
Work with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements for the Projects module.
Identify business requirements, process gaps, and areas for improvement within project management workflows.
Customization & Integration:
Configure system features such as project costing, time and expense tracking, resource management, and project accounting.
Ensure proper integration with other Epicor Kinetic modules, such as Finance, Manufacturing, and HR, for seamless data flow.
Provide guidance on custom reporting and dashboard creation to enable effective project tracking and decision-making.
User Training & Support:
Provide training sessions for end users to ensure adoption and effective use of the Epicor Kinetic Projects module.
Create user manuals, documentation, and knowledge base articles to support ongoing user training.
Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for system users during and after implementation.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
Lead or support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) efforts to ensure system functionality meets business requirements.
Identify, document, and resolve issues or bugs during the testing phase.
Project Management:
Provide oversight and guidance to the customer’s project team throughout the implementation phase, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.
Ensure successful project delivery by managing risks, dependencies, and project scope changes.
Required Skills & Experience:
Epicor Kinetic Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience with Epicor Kinetic ERP, specifically in configuring and implementing the Projects module.
Project Management Expertise: Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including scope management, budgeting, resource management, and scheduling.
Configuration and Customization Skills: Expertise in configuring Epicor modules and applying customization to meet client-specific requirements.
Cross-Module Integration: Knowledge of integrating the Projects module with other key Epicor modules, such as Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
Technical Proficiency: Strong technical aptitude with the ability to manage configurations and customizations in Epicor Kinetic, including report creation and query building.
Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and issue-resolution skills.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Training Experience: Experience creating training materials and delivering training to both technical and non-technical users.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Epicor Kinetic (Version 2022 or higher).
Familiarity with additional Epicor modules or related third-party tools that may integrate with the Projects module (e.g., Document Management, CRM, etc.).
