Senior Epicor Cost Analyst
Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Epicor Cost Analyst to support our manufacturing client’s instance of Epicor Kinetic. This position will focus on managing and optimizing cost analysis, tracking, and reporting within the Epicor Kinetic system to drive cost control, profitability, and process improvements for the client's manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cost accounting, financial analysis, and the Epicor Kinetic platform, with a deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures, inventory valuation, and production cost reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Analysis & Reporting
    Provide advanced cost analysis by evaluating production costs, cost variances, inventory valuation, and margins. Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into the financial health of manufacturing operations.
  • Costing Configuration in Epicor Kinetic
    Oversee the configuration and management of costing methods (standard cost, actual cost, job order costing) in Epicor Kinetic, ensuring accurate financial data and cost tracking throughout production.
  • Cost Control & Optimization
    Work with manufacturing and finance teams to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvements. Implement cost-saving measures and track their effectiveness in reducing overall operational costs.
  • Inventory & BOM Costing
    Monitor and optimize Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory costing, ensuring all materials, labor, and overhead costs are accurately recorded and allocated within the system.
  • Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
    Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring that cost data is reconciled and accurate for financial reporting. Provide detailed analysis of cost-of-goods-sold (COGS), production variances, and inventory movements.
  • Variance Analysis & Forecasting
    Perform detailed variance analysis, comparing actual vs. standard costs and highlighting key discrepancies. Provide actionable insights and forecasts to support management decision-making.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
    Partner with production, procurement, and finance teams to ensure that costing processes align with business objectives. Collaborate with the IT team to troubleshoot system issues and ensure data integrity within Epicor Kinetic.
  • Costing Enhancements & System Optimization
    Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within the Epicor Kinetic system related to costing and financial reporting. Identify opportunities to improve system functionality and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Audit Support & Compliance
    Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations related to manufacturing costs and inventory valuation. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Qualifications:
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting, cost analysis, or a related role, with a strong focus on manufacturing environments.
    • At least 3-5 years of experience working with Epicor 10.2 OR Kinetic (formerly Epicor ERP), specifically related to costing modules and manufacturing processes.
    • Proven experience managing inventory costing, BOMs, and variance analysis within Epicor or similar ERP systems.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong proficiency in Epicor Kinetic Costing Modules and a deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures.
    • Advanced skills in Excel, financial modeling, and reporting.
    • Experience with SQL or other query tools for pulling and analyzing financial data from ERP systems.
  • Functional Expertise
    • In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, financial reporting, and manufacturing operations.
    • Strong ability to analyze large data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for cost optimization.
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (required).
    • CMA, CPA, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
