Job Description
Biopharma organization in clinical stage seeks a Lab Automation Engineer for a year plus long contract opportunity with likely extensions, located onsite near Pittsburg, PA. This requires 2+ years in lab automation to include development in Python data packages like NumPy, SciPy, pandas and Shiny, as well as SQL. Additionally, this individual will be required to have a history troubleshooting complex lab systems like, APC, HPLC, NMR, and automated liquid handling systems; similar instrumentation expertise is acceptable as well. Lastly commercial LIMS and barcoding expertise are also required. This opportunity requires US Citizen/Green Card work authorization and offers a long-term W2 contract (w/wo benefits) for a Lab Automation Engineer willing to be onsite in PA. Relocation is available for the right person.

Responsibilities:
Designing, programming, optimizing, and troubleshooting the automation of a variety of instruments to include liquid handling systems, automated patch clamps (APC), NMR, HPLC, LCMS and plate readers.
Performing and directing the integration of lab hardware systems and LIMS.
Managing and processing data for LIMS and instrumentation.
Assisting in the development of barcoding systems in the management of compound and reagent libraries and implementing these.
Regularly identifying lab process improvements through discovery conversations with research scientists, while also monitoring emerging technology.
Performing regular troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of lab instrumentation.
Liaising with IT Teams to ensure regular security and backups of lab instrumentation systems.
Developing and maintaining robust documentation and training for lab instrumentation and utilization.
Requirements:
US Citizen or Green Card Work Authorization, located in the US.
BS/MS in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or Computer Sciences; will consider a related area but 2+ years programming expertise is required.
A history of working with all associated systems to include commercial LIMS, liquid handling systems, APC, NMR, HPLC, LCMS and plate readers.
2+ years’ experience within lab automation and development of Python data packages like NumPy, SciPy, pandas and Shiny, as well as SQL.
100% onsite role in PA with relocation assistance provided to those interested in relocating to the area.
