LabWare LIMS Developer/Administrator – (Perm) – Hybrid – IL
Well-known Global Organization seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented LIMS LabWare Developer and Administrator with 1-3 years of experience in LabWare administration, development, and SQL scripting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL scripting, Python (preferred), and experience with the full system development life cycle (SDLC) for LabWare LIMS. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, administering, and supporting LabWare LIMS, as well as contributing to system enhancements, troubleshooting, and ensuring smooth integrations with laboratory workflows. Familiarity with Oracle backend, including writing PL/SQL code, is required, and experience in the laboratory or Quality Control environment is highly preferred. Opportunity offers a hybrid permanent opportunity for candidates local or willing to relocate to Illinois.

Requirements:

  • US Citizen or Green Card Work Authorization; located within the states.

  • Ability to work out of Illinois office on a hybrid basis (3 days onsite/2 remote).

  • 1-3 years of experience in LabWare administration, development, and SQL scripting.

  • Strong experience with SQL scripting, including writing/debugging complex queries.

  • Proficiency in Python is preferred.

  • System development life cycle (SDLC) exposure (coding, testing, deployment).

  • Experience with LabWare subroutine development and basic coding techniques.

  • Proficiency in Oracle databases with the ability to write stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers using PL/SQL.

  • Basic understanding of laboratory workflow and Quality Control principles.

  • LabWare Contract Module, JD Edwards, Salesforce or Boomi are a plus but not required.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain the Labware LIMS platform and other lab quality systems (instrument interfacing and 3rd party), while ensuring optimal performance.

  • Develop, test, and deploy Labware LIMS customizations, including subroutines, workflows, and interfaces.

  • Write/optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and database triggers using PL/SQL.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify system requirements, proposing solutions.

  • Contribute to the full SDLC, from requirements gathering to implementation.

  • Investigate, test and recommend application solutions based on existing/proposed processes.

  • Support production of LabWare LIMS to include configuration, upgrades/patches, systems documentation, enhancements and training.

  • Analyze test code and debug errors to ensure system reliability and accuracy.

  • Support integrations between Labware LIMS and other enterprise systems.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, addressing any issues promptly.

  • Develop Excel/Crystal Reports, customer data reports, and KPI reporting as needed.

  • Liaise with lab system product manufacturers to ensure thorough understanding and maintenance of systems including LIMS and equipment interfaces.

  • Participate in regular team meetings for LIMS implementation planning and within weekly on-call rotation.

  • Apply knowledge of laboratory workflows and Quality Control principles to enhance LIMS functionality and improve laboratory operations.
