LIMS Sr. Software Engineer – (Remote) – Permanent
National Leader in healthcare and forensic sciences seeks a LIMS Sr. Software Engineer for a 100% remote opportunity within Central Time schedule. Ideal candidate will serve as LIMS Software Engineer to support all planning, design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment of new and existing web and desktop-based applications used through the business and related to the Horizon LIMS. This requires 6+ years of programming within Oracle PL/SQL or C#.NET, and strong SQL query expertise, stored procedures, SSMS or the equivalent. Healthcare industry expertise is also a must. Additionally, Agile or Scrum as well as Selenium, Appian or a similar QA toolkit, and the creation of visual studio unit testing are required. Ideally this person will have expertise in Horizon LIMS, and the ability to perform database reporting in Telerik Reports or similar. Requirements
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related areas.
  • US or Green Card Holder Work Authorization. Located within the US.
  • 6+ years as LIMS Developer and/or Software Engineer within the healthcare industry.
  • 6+ years programming within Oracle PL/SQL or C#.NET.
  • Strong SQL query, stored procedures, SQL Server Management Studio or equivalent.
  • HL7 interfacing experience.
  • Expertise working in full SDLC.
  • A history of working within Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Horizon LIMS highly preferred.
  • Database reporting software expertise required with a high preference for Telerik Reports or the equivalent.
  • Experience with Selenium, Appian or other QA toolkits preferred.
  • Creation of Visual Studio unit tests preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Support all planning, design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment of new and existing web and desktop-based applications used through the business and related to the Horizon LIMS.
  • Work with team in the creation, collection and categorization of business requirements.
  • Gathering requirements to create design documentation for system development.
  • Performing hands-on configurations of workflows/test codes (Acodes) in Horizon LIMS.
  • Designing and developing reports/data files using Telerik Reporting and Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Developing and/or expanding HL7 message interfaces as related to Horizon LIMS.
  • Utilizing full-stack development skills to guide project team through complex projects.
  • Participating in various stages of project as key lead while ensuring the SDLC activities are within required phase of project lifecycle.
  • Performing software analysis, code reviews, requirements analysis and identification or coding metrics, system risk analysis and software reliability analysis.
  • Configuring and supporting database and server environment.
  • Working with database teams supporting creation/architecture SQL/Oracle databases.
  • Writing Oracle PL/SQL functions/procedures utilized by other teams to ensure these interact with Horizon LIMS database tables and deploy as needed throughout process.
  • Performing Quality Assurance/Control for existing and new applications.
  • Assist in the identification of problems/resolution with little to no guidance.
  • Perform systems administration and maintenance for version control software, while adhering to established version and change control procedures throughout SDLC.
