Company Overview:
Our client is a well-established distribution company that is recognized for its commitment to excellence in service, product delivery, and customer satisfaction. They are currently seeking an experienced Prophet 21 End User Support Specialist to join their team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This role is essential for supporting their Prophet 21 ERP system and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations for their end users.
Position Overview:
As a Prophet 21 End User Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for users of the Prophet 21 ERP system. You will be the first point of contact for internal users, ensuring any system-related issues are quickly addressed and resolved. This is a hybrid role with a focus on both remote and on-site support, depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day support for Prophet 21 ERP users, including troubleshooting issues related to the software.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for end users requiring assistance with Prophet 21.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues within Prophet 21.
  • Assist with user training, providing guidance on system functionality, best practices, and troubleshooting tips.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure system integrations are working smoothly and perform root cause analysis on reported issues.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation on known issues, solutions, and workarounds.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical teams when necessary.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential problems to prevent downtime.
  • Assist in testing system upgrades and enhancements to ensure compatibility with existing configurations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with end users, providing consistent communication regarding ticket status and resolution timelines.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience providing support for Prophet 21 (or similar ERP systems) in an end user support role.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with SQL and the ability to query and analyze databases to diagnose issues.
  • Previous experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain environment is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a focus on providing excellent support and fostering positive relationships.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on-site when needed, with flexibility to perform remote support.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with Prophet 21 system configurations and modules (Inventory, Sales, Purchasing, and Accounting).
  • Experience with systems integration and data flow within ERP systems.
  • Experience with troubleshooting common ERP issues, including order processing, inventory management, and reporting.
