Job Description
Our client is a prominent distribution company committed to delivering excellence in their industry. They are seeking a skilled Network Administrator to manage and optimize their network infrastructure and the Prophet 21 ERP system that is critical to their operations. Position Overview: As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the network systems and the Prophet 21 ERP system. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the network and ERP infrastructure, supporting the daily operations and business goals. Key Responsibilities:
Network Administration:
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure network reliability and performance.
Implement network security measures to safeguard company data and prevent unauthorized access.
Conduct regular network performance assessments and recommend improvements as needed.
Manage network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
ERP Administration (Prophet 21):
Administer and maintain the Prophet 21 ERP system, including user management, system configuration, and performance tuning.
Troubleshoot and resolve ERP-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.
Collaborate with various departments to optimize ERP processes and ensure the system meets business needs.
Perform regular ERP system backups and ensure data integrity and recovery processes.
Stay updated with the latest ERP releases and patches and apply updates as required.
Support and Training:
Provide technical support and training to end-users on network and ERP-related issues.
Develop and maintain user guides, documentation, and training materials for network and ERP systems.
Assist with onboarding new employees and provide ongoing support for existing staff.
Project Management:
Participate in planning and executing network and ERP-related projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
Compliance and Security:
Ensure network and ERP systems comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience as a Network Administrator and ERP system administrator (Prophet 21 experience is a plus).
Strong knowledge of network protocols, security practices, and network hardware.
Proficiency in administering ERP systems, with hands-on experience in Prophet 21 preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus.
