Social Media Specialist

As a valued colleague on our team, you will help support Fannie Mae's employee advocacy program. In this role, you will help drive employee adoption, use, and engagement of the program. The ideal candidate will have deep social media experience and enjoys working collaboratively across teams.

The Social Media Specialist role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
  • Oversees the ongoing management of the existing Fannie Mae employee advocacy program and develops plans to optimize and scale the program; is the in-house super user and expert, and an internal advocate for all things employee social sharing
  • Partners closely with other teams including Internal and External Communications, Talent Acquisition, Single-Family, and Multifamily Marketing to understand upcoming initiatives and align on opportunities for maximum employee participation
  • Manages the employee advocacy editorial process. This includes the creation and execution of a content calendar supporting enterprise and line of business specific social channels in accordance with a content strategy
  • Develops creative concepts from idea to completion, including writing creative briefs to deliver and optimizing content against the brief
  • Analyzes the effectiveness of employee advocacy program and develops recommendations to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of employee engagement
  • Ability to identify and understand performance trends of advocacy content; analyzes data to determine how we make strategic adjustments; develops reports to inform internal stakeholders of recommendations
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships and alliances with key internal teams and partners to help deliver innovation and success
  • Support of engagement & moderation processes
  • Serves as support to other internal content creators, providing best practices and guidelines to ensure that content is consistently high-quality and on-brand
  • Coordinates with Legal, Public Relations, Compliance, and Risk teams to assure social governance policies and procedures are met when publishing to channels

Required Experience:
  • 2+ years
  • Persuasive, excellent written/oral communication, presentation, editing and copywriting skills
  • Collaborative and team-focused, with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • At least 2 years of social media marketing strategy experience, including analyzing, planning, and executing social media campaigns
  • Experience developing and managing a social media editorial calendar as well as an enterprise employee advocacy tool, such as Sprinklr, Dynamic Signal, Everyone Social, Bambu, etc.
  • Detail and process oriented, with the ability to work independently to resolve problems, yet with the awareness for how and when to effectively manage up
  • Expertise across major social platforms. Including: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit, etc.
  • Expertise in community engagement, moderation, and social listening using social media publishing tools like Sprinklr (or Sprout Social, Khoros, Hootsuite, etc.)

Desired Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with flawless execution while adhering to tight timelines
  • Experience working with and inspiring creative teams, managing agency relationships on both strategic and creative projects, and developing paid media strategies for social
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, work autonomously, and navigate ambiguity (including senior stakeholders, creative teams, legal, media relations etc.)
  • Skilled in Excel
  • Experience using SharePoint
  • Experience using Tableau
  • Experience using Workfront
  • Experience using Google Analytics
