Within the research & development arm of our client's Reality Labs, Reality Labs Research, they are creating the future of AR and VR technology. Integrating technologies into cohesive experiences that are useful, usable, and desirable to people is a crucial part of our mission. As a mixed-methods user experience researcher, you'll be taking on exciting opportunities, informing new ways of interacting with future augmented and virtual reality solutions as well as evaluating ego-centric data capture solutions and applications.

You are passionate about driving people-centric solutions within technical and cross-functional teams, informing the roadmap of solutions with research insights, and working with others to methodically measure and iterate solutions you have helped to define. You know when to jump in before your stakeholders ask and how to work with them to consistently drive progress. You are curious about new ways to interact with emerging technologies, bringing both your toolbox of proven qualitative and quantitative research methods into play plus a desire to explore new methods with the team of designers, researchers, and research scientists you'll be joining.

Location: 100% Remote - must be local to the following cities: New York City, Los Angeles, Redmond, Denver, Houston or San Diego
Pay Rate: $62-$75/hr (depending on location)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute research that collects and codifies objective and subjective measures for cohesive hardware and software experiences to inform the direction of AR/MR/VR interactions and strategies
  • Work with research scientists, designers, engineers and PMs to bring together developing technologies and identify research questions that can yield actionable insights for the team
  • Develop standardized UX metrics and surveys as appropriate for repeated use and comparison over time for various projects across the broader team
  • Proactively involve team members in the research process
  • Share best practices & new techniques with the broader organization

Qualifications:
  • BS in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related field
  • MS in Human Factors, Experimental Psychology, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related field
  • 2+ years experience conducting applied research on consumer products involving both qualitative and quantitative methods in industry
  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage ones time.
  • Experience with data and utilizing numbers to define and support hypotheses
  • Experience with storytelling to get traction with various audience
  • Experience with autonomy and decision making to balance demands
