Job Description
Planet Technology is seeking a Visual Merchandising Designer to join one of our well-known beauty clients.
Visual Merchandising Designer Responsibilities:
Work on launch promotions, visual merchandising, and guidelines for all stores in the North America region.
Apply approved concept to design and final execution of in-store artwork for retailers and Free standing stores. Execute multiple variants for each program.
Create 3D renderings for custom VM units, retailer outposts, and design proposals.
Work with cross-functional departments (creative ops, product marketing, digital/social, trade marketing) to design and create layouts for signage, evites, and label packaging.
Render stores/fixtures to show designs in context. Assist with additional renderings as needed.
Work with VM Manager in the creation of campaign specific visual merchandising guidelines and generic merchandising guidelines for Department stores and Open-Sell environments.
Support and partner with teams to develop VM guidelines monthly for a variety of store types (Free standing stores, Department stores, etc).
Ability to solve layout challenges creatively while maintaining integrity of approved design direction.
Ensure brand design standards are upheld, merchandising/brand guidelines are adhered to, and approved assets are being used.
Collaborate with creative ops to coordinate scheduling of multiple projects to ensure on-time artwork release.
Create PDFs of all artwork for interdepartmental review. Maintain a well-organized database of graphics (working and final) for each program developed.
Develop and seek new vendors, agencies, manufacturers, and contractors to broaden resources.
Own PO creation process by collaborating with vendors and buying center. Manage incoming and outgoing vendor communication in a timely manner.
Communicate window concepts to all brick-and-mortar locations, boutique managers, and Directors for all display installations and upload designs to the shared drive.
Coordinate vendor installation timelines.
All other duties or projects as assigned.
Visual Merchandising Designer Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in design or related field.
Designer w/ 2-5 years of experience in a graphic design for visual merchandising.
MAC platform and Microsoft Office programs.
Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); Ability to mock-up/render in Photoshop.
Proficient in 3D design software (Sketchup).
Stellar typography skills and aesthetic.
Attention to detail and ability to carefully follow direction.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and team player attitude.
Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to take direction and work closely with team members.
Basic knowledge of pre-press and print production.
Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
